Admission requirements vary based on the level of study. Here are the general criteria:
MD Program (4 years):
· General Biology: One year with lab; biology-related courses may substitute half the requirement. Recommended: genetics, embryology, or cell biology.
· General Chemistry: One year with lab.
· Organic Chemistry: One year with lab. Biochemistry may substitute half the Organic Chemistry requirement.
· English: One year of college-level English, demonstrating strong writing, reading, and communication skills.
BSc/ MD Program (5 years):
· Entry Qualifications: To apply for the 5-Year BSc/MD program, candidates must meet pre-med qualifications such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma, an Associate’s Degree, 10 + 2 (India/Nepal), AS/A Levels, Irish Leaving Certificate, or CAPE Units 1 and 2.
· English Proficiency: Non-English speakers may be required to demonstrate English proficiency through TOEFL, IELTS (minimum 7.0 overall, or 6.5 for both overall and writing), or other accepted tests.
BSc/ MD Program (6 years):
· Entry Qualifications: For admission to the 6-Year BSc/MD program, applicants must have a secondary school diploma with strong science performance. Accepted qualifications include the American or Canadian high school curriculum, IGCSE (O-Levels) with at least a B grade in 6 subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Math, and English.
· English Proficiency: Non-native English speakers may need to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores, with a minimum overall score of 7.0 on IELTS (6.5 in overall and writing sections may be considered). Other equivalent English proficiency tests may also be accepted.
Pre- Medical Master’s Program:
· Entry Requirements: A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a recognized and accredited institution.
· English Proficiency: As English is the language of instruction at MUA, applicants whose first language is not English may need to submit TOEFL scores to demonstrate their ability to understand and communicate effectively.
The $25,000 USD grant, spread over 10 semesters, is specifically designated to cover tuition costs. To remain eligible, students must maintain good academic standing and make steady progress toward completing their program on time, without the need for remediation. The scholarship will be applied directly as a tuition credit.
